New Jersey School Employee Terminated After Email

The Cherry Hill, N.J., school board has voted to terminate a school administrator who compared public works employees to gorillas.

CHERRY HILL, N.J.-- The Cherry Hill school board has voted to terminate a school administrator who compared public works employees to gorillas.

Mayor Bernie Platt and others were outraged after facilities director Kevin Larson sent an email on Jan. 28 to a principal's request for help to remove snow from a school, MyFoxPhilly reports.

Larson responded with, "All of my polar bears, trained seals and the two silver back mountain gorillas on loan from the township" are unavailable. Many of the township's public works employees are black. Larson later apologized.

School board president Seth Klukoff said that Larson was fired but that the board continues to negotiate with him.
