MINNEAPOLIS – A Minnesota man has been charged with murder for allegedly providing a synthetic drug that killed one teen and sent 10 others to the hospital.
Twenty-one-year-old Timothy Richard Lamere of Blaine was being held Monday on a third-degree murder charge. Authorities say he purchased the drug called 2C-E and provided it to a group in Blaine on Wednesday.
Nineteen-year-old Trevor Vance Robinson-Davis of Coon Rapids died a day later. Ten others at the party got sick.
When officers arrived, they found a group of young people having trouble breathing. Some appeared to be hallucinating.
Officials say the substance is a synthetic drug that can be bought online. It is a "cousin" to a banned rave-party drug.
A message left at Lamere's home was not immediately returned Monday.
