A man robbed while at a California church Friday has replaced the $2000 stolen from him thanks to a good Samaritan.

A man robbed of while at a California church Friday has recouped the $2,000 stolen from him -- thanks to a good Samaritan.

Santiago Ramirez was returning from the bathroom during Good Friday services Friday morning in at Our Lady of Guadalupe church in Sacramento when a man with a gun forced him to the floor and took his money and cell phone, Fox40.com reported.

Ramirez, who is planning to attend a seminary in two weeks to become a priest, had all of his savings, roughly $2,000, on him, with intentions to give it to a fellow parishioner who is unemployed and needs a new car, the site reported.

But the story still has a happy ending.

A man who wished to remain anonymous said he was touched by the story when he heard about it on the morning news and went to the church with about $1000 in cash for Ramirez. The man then went to an ATM nearby and pulled out another $1,000 for Ramirez, Fox40.com reported.

Police were still looking for the robbery suspect.
