Border Patrol Finds 12 Illegal Immigrants in Unventilated Truck in Texas

FALFURRIAS, Texas -- U.S. Border Patrol agents in South Texas over the weekend found 12 illegal immigrants sweltering in a cargo truck with no ventilation.

The Border Patrol said in a news release that agents working at the Falfurrias Checkpoint found the people hidden behind a cargo of furniture Saturday.

The Border Patrol says one person began fainting from the heat and was taken to the hospital for evaluation. The Border Patrol says all the illegal immigrants said it was hard to breathe inside the truck.

The driver was turned over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations.

The illegal immigrants were processed to be sent back to their countries.
