3 fatally shot in Ind., 4-year-old girl spared

GARY, Ind. – Police in Gary, Ind., say they found a 4-year-old girl lying on a couch in a room where three men had been fatally shot.

Lt. Samuel Roberts says police don't know the motive or have any suspects in the Thursday night shooting at a Gary home. He says drugs were found inside.

The bodies were found after a man who had been shot fled the home and flagged down a passing police car. Roberts says the man and another shooting victim were taken to hospitals.

Roberts said investigators don't know why the girl's life was spared. She was placed in protective custody.
