What

Necklaces by Maria Francesca Pepe | Shirt and pants by Georgia Hardinge | Preen x Aldo shoes | hat by Bates Hats | bag by Celine | assorted wristwear and rings | sunglasses by Oliver Peoples |brass ear cuffs.

Why

Trends will come and go but my style as led by the emotive experience stays the same. What is inherent within stays with you. It is like second skin which grows and adapts but its very essence stays the same.

This image by the wonderful and talented Phill Taylor captures brilliantly the makings of me; my West African culture meets my assimilated Western upbringing, lands I’ve traversed, an affinity to the 70′s, my fascination with structure and structure and balance.

Somewhere in this mix of 70′s proportions (it was lust at first sight with the width of these pants by Georgia Hardinge), hard meets soft (I adore how Maria’s jewellery perfectly conveys that duality) and rich hue (‘Marian color heaven’ is the mix of the color of that Bates hat, those pants and that shirt) and my life long love of reflective eyewear (Oliver Peoples had me at hello with these shades) is where I have been, where I am and where I am headed.
