Marian Kihogo By Lauren Friedman Of My Closet Sketches

There is no greater honor, than the honor of being immortalized by an artist. Perhaps this honor is made that little bit more special when that artist has uncanny insight into your style.

To stumble on My Closet Sketches, is to be charmed by it. In that same vein, to meet Lauren Friedman of My Closet Sketches, is to connect to her. Before meeting her at Lucky Magazine’s second FABB (Fashion & Beauty bloggers) conference, her site had become a firm favorite.

Connecting in person was inevitable as it was clear that she was creative through and through. Her art, an unfaltering tangible manifestation of her unique perspective.

Friedman shares her closet through outfit sketches that reveal the very soul of these looks.

Case in point would be the semblance of sense her sketch above makes of a seemingly random outfit.

She not only documents my plaid Valentino sport shirt, turban, armor of jewelry, the vintage Navajo print wool wrap skirt, the leather pants, the luxury Cynthia Germain leather holster etc, she also documents the attitude and emotion (in the case of this outfit, an urban tribalism) that bring them to life.

Deep appreciation to Lauren. Visit her beautifully designed My Closet Sketches site and explore her sketched style experience here.
