No collection is complete without the right accessories. Spring summer 2012 saw Loeffler Randall collaborate with SUNO (as helmed by Max Osterweis and Erin Beatty) for third season.
This collaboration birthed two exclusive shoe designs. There is a serenity about the shoes. The SUNO prints are paired with feminine structure, macrame and unexpected exposures.
It could be the macrame over the upper silhouette but there is an interesting shoe encased in a shoe effect.
These are the lovechild of a stacked silhouette and the basic gladiator upper. The pairing of the two? Genius.

Over the years, I found that nearly every Balenciaga collection boasts footwear worthy of its own show.
If the Balenciaga footwear per seasonal collection, was a collective of people, they’d be fighting for their independence from the main collection by now.
With the footwear this season, Nicolas Ghesquière stays in keeping with Balenciaga’s innovative lineage.
The most interesting shape would have to be his rounded off, square toe with angular flaps. The backless heel features cross straps, a stopper at base of the architectural heel (some of these have a surrealistic feeling cut-out in heel) and a ThunderCats cartoon like animal print upper (Tiger, Cheetah, Python etc).
This footwear will no doubt influence the shape of shoes to come. Ghesquière’s strength when it comes to shoes, is his ability to convince us to experiment with future forward forms. He does this particularly well and perhaps this why he is a perfect fit for a fashion house that has become synonymous with innovation and the conceptual.
