Osman Spring Summer 2011

Saturday, September 18th, 2010

For spring summer 2011, Osman Yousefzada’s unfaltering architectural simplicity takes on a refreshing spin. His minimalist, future forward, structured designs in low key navy, tan and beige is punctuated with citrus yellow, apple green and pink.

This contrasting palette sees the use of baby soft patent leather garments, ottoman summer dresses and tailored separates.

Yousefzada’s spring summer 2011 woman is both structured and relaxed.

I remember this specific look as it came down the runway at the Osman Yousefzada autumn winter 2010 – 2011 show as covered here.

The collection featured check palazzo pants, cocoon coats, mohair separates, draped jersey dresses reminiscent of Donna Karan’s aesthetic and more.

This silk jersey top gnawed it’s way into my mind.

At a press appointment I was surprised at how heavy it was. Nothing like your run of the mill gem embellished garment.

The jersey crop top is covered with large Swarovski stones.

I love that Osman has paired the elegant cut of the long sleeve silk jersey with the no holds barred embellishment.

In that piece a girl would little or no jewellery!

The top is available at Selfridges and Browns.
