Lanvin For H&M // Need To Know Survival Guide & How To Shop With Store List

Monday, November 22nd, 2010

So by now, you are fully aware that I am obsessed with the Lanvin x H&M collection. When the news first broke about the collaboration, I shared Alber Elbaz’s thoughts via that video here.

I then posted the fun, very Lanvin in aesthetic lookbook video here and shared the pricing of the pieces here.

I shared my wish list from the collection here and got your thoughts on the collection being on Ebay here.

If you, like me, are looking to score designs from this collection tomorrow when it goes on sale in the UK. This is the need to know guide for you.

Only 15 stores will stock the mens and ladies collections collectively across the UK. Out of that number, below is the list of stores and their addresses that will stock the ladies collection by city. According to lovely and reliable source at the UK H&M press office, each store will only be stocked once. Once the stock is all bought up, that is the end of that.

It really is limited edition.

According to H&M the first 320 people will be given one of 16 different coloured bracelets. 20 people for every colour. On the bracelet will be an allotted specific time for shopping in the designated Lanvin x H&M area of the store. The bracelets are only for those wanting to shop the ladies collection. Once the allotted time for shopping arrives, one is given only 10 minutes to shop. If you do not make it into the 320 people to first arrive (i.e the 16 groups of 20) you will get to shop the rest of the collection once the 320 are done with their allotted shopping times as explained.

The stores which will stock the ladies collection across the UK.

The collection is available from 7am GMT online the H&M site here.

Apparently there is no limit to items that one can buy online.

If you plan to shop instore…

- Arrive early to make it into the first 320 people.

- Wear an outfit that allows for trying things on easily on the shop floor. With only 10 minutes shopping time per group, there will be no time to spend in changing rooms.
Wear a tank top and leggings which will allow for trying things over as you shop. This is not the day for intricate footwear or hard to get out off boots. Keep footwear easy to remove, such as slip ons and ballet pumps. These will allow for you to easily try footwear on.

- Leave those IT bags and all extra stuff at home. You will need you hands to be as free as possible. Stuff keys and money in bum bags/bags that slouch across the body/ a purse around the neck and the like.

If you plan to shop online…

- Be prepared to get online as soon as the collection is available to snap up from 7am GMT

- Do bear in mind that with all the traffic coming to the site, that crashes may be inevitable.

Happy Lanvin x H&M shopping and do let me know what you end up scoring!

Saturday, November 20th, 2010

OK so I am not going to lie, I want it all. But since I have to choose, this is what I am hoping to get. I cannot believe the pieces are already on Ebay for astronomically inflated prices, as seen here,

If you are based in Canada and U.S.A (collection went on sale there today) what bits have you bought? For my UK and European based readers what pieces from the collection is on your shopping list when it goes on sale next week?

Lanvin For H&M Preview Video

Tuesday, November 2nd, 2010

In September it was revealed that Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz was designing a collection for H&M. Elbaz spoke about the collaboration in a video seen here.

In it Elbaz is quoted as saying “H&M approached us to collaborate, and see if we could translate the dream we created at Lanvin to a wider audience, not just a dress for less.”

Now H&M has released the above video which previews the collection.

Red Carpet fashion critic and founder of internationally popular fashion site, Red Carpet Fashion Awards,
Catherine Kallon, was quoted as saying “Lanvin for H&M Press day was amazing. I’ve gone from wanting 2 things to wanting everything.” on her Twitter.

She goes on to share her thoughts on the line-up with exclusive images here.

Catherine’s tweet got me excited about the upcoming launch. I agree with her on the desirability of the collection. The Lanvin aesthetic of sophistication, femininity and fun comes through in the pieces featured in the preview video.

It seems Elbaz has kept his promise about bringing Lanvin to a wider audience.

What are your thoughts on the video, the look of the collection and the collaboration as a whole?

The Lanvin Hearts for H&M collection is due to go on sale on November 23rd.

Lanvin For H&M

Thursday, September 2nd, 2010

For the past week, the grapevine has been working over time with rumours about a possible collaboration between Lanvin and Swedish high street favourite, H&M.

According to a press release that landed in my inbox first thing this morning, the collaboration is true.

The line has been designed by Lanvin’s artistic director, Alber Elbaz and their head of menswear, Lucas Ossendrijver.

In the video above Alber Elbaz speaks on his thoughts on this collaboration. He is quoted as saying – “H&M approached us to collaborate, and see if we could translate the dream we created at Lanvin to a wider audience, not just a dress for less. I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public. This has been an exceptional exercise, where two companies at opposite poles can work together because we share the same philosophy of bringing joy and beauty to men and women around the world.

Wondering what the collection will look like? On 2nd November, it will make its debut via a special fashion film. This can be watched on the H&M site on said launch date.

Will you be camping out, in a bid to be first in queue, when the collections for both men and women hit stores on 23rd November?

What are your thoughts on the Lanvin for H&M line? Luxury goes high street? Or is it high street goes luxury as stated by Elbaz?
