Currently Crushing On // Tamzin Lillywhite Areion Bag Maria Francesca Pepe Two Finger Ring Balenciaga Loafer Wedge

Wednesday, August 31st, 2011

Tamzin Lillywhite
It was love at sharp spike when I spotted this bag by Tamzin Lillywhite. Lillywhite’s Areion bag has a lot going for it; the shape, the fact that it is handmade by Lillywhite, the even more glorious fact that only ten of this limited edition design have been made.
How fantastic is the contrast of the sparkle effect leather set against the soft bridle leather? Leather worker and accessories designer, Tamzin Lillywhite is one to watch.

Currently Crushing On // Theyskens’ Theory

Friday, June 24th, 2011

This week it appears all my fashion crushes are by Belgian designer Olivier Theyskens. His collaboration with Theory seems to birth cool garment after cool garment. Everything always looks impeccably cut and effortlessly tailored. His knack is taken a basic and adding a directional face-lift to it.

Great case in point has to be the white cotton T-shirt. At first look it may be overlooked as your typical mundane T-shirt but look again and you notice the cropped front, the curved hems, the longer back and the well balanced drape.

This week I am crushing on Theyskens’s ability to inject contemporary cool into ordinary closet staples.

All available here.

Could the structure of this mini bag be more perfect? The size gets top marks too. When it comes to bags I am attracted more to ‘versatile timelessness’ than ‘IT bag just because’.

Could these pieces be a sign of an inherent desire for stripped back design? The type that seems effortless and non assuming on first glance but with an innate focus on both design and well honed function.

Never judge a design at first glance.

Currently Crushing On // Leopard Print Basic Instinct

Monday, March 14th, 2011

Lately I have been on the prowl and crushing majorly on all things animal print.

As soon as there is some sun, I plan to make like Naomi Campbell (images seen here. ) in the Dolce & Gabbana ‘Animalier’ summer 2011 eyewear.

I like the idea of attaching bags to other bags. This Juicy Couture clutch would make for a fun addition to another bag. Contrast the prints and color.

The Yves Saint Laurent scarf is a memorable shade of green. A smidgen acidic but regular enough for the girl next door.

Alaïa knows the way to a girls heart; through great toe cleavage and corsetry. He employs both in these boots.

The color and cut-outs make this Topshop dress, summer perfect.

I’d like to pair this Sonia by Sonia Rykiel top with pajama print pants and vertiginous heels.

It seems the more interesting the leopard print color pathway, the more endless the possibilities.

How do you feel about leopard print?
