On the beauty counter this week….

Products that inspire that are both free from parabens and innovative.

Sophyto Super Skin Tocotrienol Concentrate
This product from the Sophyto line as founded by Karen Sinclair Drkae is in keeping with the brand’s anti-aging vision of fusing advanced phytotherapy with the holistic. Free from fillers, parabens, fragrance and colors, this 99% organic ingredient based tocotrienol skin concentrate is a formulation that contains four forms of Vitmain E; alpha, beta, gamma and delta.Currently on my beauty counter, it improves texture, repairs UV damage and nourishes skin. The Sophyto brand is perfect for this gluten intolerant being the first professional company to achieve gluten-free certification.
 Available at Planetorganics.com

Mavala Delicious Collection
Perhaps the most apt name ever give to a nail lacquer collection. The shades in Mavala’s spring summer 2012 ‘Declious’ collection look good enough to eat! Their individual shade names are pretty appetizing too, from a zesty ‘Lemon Cream’, a cool ‘Blue Mint’, the sorbet akin ‘Frozen Berry’ (my personal favorite!), ‘Pistachio’, ‘Fresh Melon’ to the bubblegum ‘Candy Floss’ shade. Mavala’s nail range is popular because they are not only free from parabens, toluene, camphore, heavy metal, animal ingredients and cellophane but also keep their color innovative. I think this ‘Delicious’ collection is the perfect way to wear spring’s massive pastel and soft hued color palette trend.

Bobbi Brown in Desert Plum
The name of this lipstick shade could not be more apt. There is something both nude and warm about its tones.

Mavala Frozen Berry & Pistachio
The shades from the Mavala spring 2012 collection are good enough to eat. Pastel hued and muted does not have to mean boring. The lavender ‘Frozen Berry’ and green ‘Pistachio’ are my favorites from that collection.

The allure of Ford’s beauty products is the packaging is as considered as the products themselves. His Jasmin Rouge perfume would look magnificent on any beauty counter.

This winter treat your skin (the largest organ) to a new moisturizing experience with these two products.

Weleda // Skin Food

Sustainable beauty brand, Weleda is beloved. Their natural products boast ingredients grown in Weleda farms.

As its name suggests, this product feeds your skin. Soothing Rosemary, antiseptic organic Pansy and anti-inflammatory calendula and Biodynamic come together the super nourishing moisturizer by Weleda.

Bodhi // Ylang-Ylang Incensa Moisturizer

The Bodhi brand as founded by Elijah Choo, has become a firm stay on my personal beauty counter top. This love affair began since its launch which I had the pleasure of attending. The vision of the brand which sees the perfect mix of luxury and the all natural, is in my opinion the making of the perfect beauty brand.

Choo’s Ylang-Ylang Incensa moisturizer is free of all the harsh chemicals (no parabens, no petrochemicals, no sulphates, no synthetic colours, fragrances or animal ingredients) that your body does not need. In their place there is the stimulating aphrodisiac properties of Ylang-Ylang, the sebum regulatory and skin toning of Patchouli, Neroli, Peppercorn and Honeysuckle.

1. Tom Ford Nail Lacquer
I am devoted to Tom Ford’s approach to beauty. Two of his perfumes; Black Orchid and more recently Violet Blonde hold court on my beauty counter. Such is the case with his lip color collection. His foray into a full nail lacquer range is no less glamorous. High pigmented color meets his signature luxurious packaging. At present it is apparently only available in the states (on pre-order).
More information here.

2. Rachel Roy eye-palette
Rachel Roy debuts an eye-palette that will take your eye makeup from day into night. For day shades include; Fire, Balance, Galaxy, Energy, and Dark Magic (as seen on left side of palette). On the right hand side are the nighttime shades; Infinite, Twilight, Evil Eye, Celestial, and Empyrean. This would make a wonderful holiday gift. It launches on rachelroy.com and select Macy’s on November 1st.

3. Marc Jacobs Splash Ginger eau de toilette
Douse me in this whenever you like. Spicy, warm, citrus infused and invigorating, it has notes of Ginger, coriander, cognac oil, bourbon, granadilla, rhubarb, sandalwood and musk.

1. Philosophy Keep the Peace range is just one reason why I adore the Philosophy brand. The Keep the Peace range is created with sensitive skin (like mine!) in mind. The serum, moisturiser and instant relief mask is just what reactive skin needs on beauty speed dial.

2. Rimmel Lipstick collection by Kate Moss makes sense. Seeing that Kate has collaborated with Rimmel for ten years, a collection as designed by her for the brand was inevitable.
