Fashion House, Balenciaga, as headed by the internationally respected Nicolas Ghesquière, has always marred the lines of the classic with the future perfect with effortless precision.

Ever the innovator, Ghesquière has now launched the new Balenciaga Paris Purse spray. This launch follows the success of his first perfume. The purse spray contains the original BALENCIAGA PARIS fragrance. It consists of notes of striking chypre violet, architectural woods and fresh leaves. The facets of this luxurious perfume, make it simultaneously classic and modern.

The hand-bag sized purse Spray stands out in packaging distinctive of the future forward design that Balenciaga is notable for. In a purist white and black palette, the opaque purse spray, made of the base metal zamak, looks like an art object in itself.

The above Fashematic (fashion maths) was so inevitable, it was itching to happen. As soon as I saw Balenciaga autumn/winter 2010-2011 collection, I thought the shoes look like Lego’s blocks!

It is something to do with their dismountable looking structure. I am enamoured with the fact that each shoes looks like the sole and heel look like the can be prised apart and then slotted back together.

The 70’s bright palette meets the angular parts of each loafer/brogue meets Nicolas Ghesquière ridiculously ingenious forays into technological innovation make for shoes that are one part toy and all parts art.
