I hope you are enjoying the My London Fashion Week series. It always fun finding how people prep for fashion week.

Lovely Wafa Alobaidat is the next fashion professional featured in this segment. Read on for all her fashion week must do’s.

Name: Wafa Alobaidat

Occupation:

Editor in Chief of Sketchbook Magazine

Founder/Creative Director of Design Agency ‘Obai and Hill’

My Personal Style in 5 Words: Comfortable, loose, classic, minimalist, city girl in belted oversized menswear white shirt and converse (that’s more than 5 words, sorry)

1. Two things that are absolute musts in your bag for fashion week?

Blackberry and my Nikon D-40

2. Three things that you are doing to prep for fashion week?

- Organizing our pop up station in collaboration with LFW where we will be doing live tweeting/blogging/illustrating with all the designers

- Preparing for our Sketchbook bloggers breakfast in coalition with a
boutique hotel in Soho for staff/loyal readers. Choosing the menu which will include blueberry pancakes, hot chocolate, and fresh eye eggs.

- Going for daily runs/swims/spinning class as I know I will not do much
exercise for the month of fashion week.

3. One reason why London Fashion week is amazing?

London is a hub of young talent, original street style. People who wear and embrace fashion here are experiential and make a statement. Its absolutely inspirational. I haven’t seen anything that compares.

4. Your fail safe tip for getting through the hectic back to back show schedule?

I have plenty. Wearing comfortable heels. And then stocking up on gorgeous flats and sandals because after day 5 you can’t wear heels all day long. Carry your blackberry/camera charger with you at all times. Stock up on business cards. Don’t try attending all the designer parties after the shows as it will make it impossible to wake up for the morning shows.

5. High heels or flats at fashion week?

High heels for the first three days then back to flats in the bag.

6. One outfit you will be wearing at fashion week?

I have supported fashion designers Omer Jamal and Eugene Lin since they first came out so I would be delighted to wear them. I would also feel comfortable and sexy in an Aminaka Wilmont dress. I also try to wear at least one Manish Arora/Basso and Brooke outfit. I have worked closely with Blow PR since I was a student so I support all their designers.

Wafa is so hardworking and I like all the innovative projects that Sketchbook magazine are involved in.

I loved her tips! Last season at London Fashion Week I kept forgetting my camera charger at home!

I am looking forward to visiting her magazine’s station in collaboration with LFW during that week.

Kind thanks to Wafa.
