Diary // Mademoiselle Robots Paris Diary

Darlings welcome to the first of the Diary Series. The Diary series will follow the adventures of the creative over a course of time. This may be a a weekend break away from home, it could be over the course of a really creative period, it may even be over the glam glory that is award season and so much more.

I am honoured to feature Laetitia Wajnapel, known as the fabulous Mademoiselle Robot first in this Diary series. Laetitia is a super lovely stylist, fashion writer, consultant and social media expert. Please find a delish image of the beauty as below. How divine is her hair and that bow is the sweetest! Such a beauty.

Laetitia also blogs on all things yummy. Her popular Mademoiselle Robot site is loved by so many. This is a total no brainer as Laetitia’s mix of drool inducing photography, personal style posts, how to do beauty videos etc will leave you addicted!

Mariankihogo.com was honoured to have Laetitia document a delish diary, during the course of a recent trip to Paris. The diary of her chic adventures was documented during the autumn/winter 2010 – 2011 Paris Fashion Week.

Prepare to fall head over heels….

*Puts suitcase down*
Hello everyone!

I am thrilled to share a little bit of my latest Parisian adventure with you… Before I start, I am going to give you some background info (did I hear someone say “Boooooo”?)

I was born and raised in Paris and I’ve moved to London about 6 years ago now. I travel to Paris a lot, be it to see my family and friends, or for styling jobs. This time, however things were slightly different as I got to experience Paris Fashion Week for the first time. Well technically this is a lie as I had been there before, but not for work, just as a guest of a designer so that doesn’t really count (and also I was 13, but not Tavi style 13 so I didn’t realise what I was doing – even when face to face with Helena Christensen and Linda Evangelista but that’s another story entirely).

Aaaaanyway. Whenever I go to Paris, I make sure I visit my old neighbourhood of Le Marais, and recently it has changed a lot, not necessarily for the better. A lot of horrible stores have opened and the area is slowly losing its soul.

Merci is one of those new stores. It is totally new to me as it only opened after I left, but I quite like visiting it. I like the space and I really wanted to check out the collboration with Liberty.

Wandering around in Paris, you always end up stumbling upon an art installation of some sort. This one caught my eye as I was walking down the Rue de Bretagne. It is called “Moi en Exposition” (Me as an exhibition) and it is a collection of photographs printed from random people’s facebook, myspace etc and arranged as a photography exhibition while at the same time exploring why people feel like exposing themselves to the public eye constantly. That’s a question I ask myself daily so it was interesting to see what conclusions the artist came to.

My friends Mike and Jen from Hot Breath Karaoke were also in Paris during Fashion Week as they were performing in The Selby’s apartment window in Colette. I got to meet Todd who is lovely. I really want to buy his book as I am already a big fan of his interiors shoots. It was very odd to see something that really belongs to my London life right in the middle of my Parisian world… Like two parallel lives colliding. *shivers* I felt a bit like the kids on this photo.

I was quite tired of fashion week frenzy by the time I got to Paris so I only went to two shows: Manish Arora and Barbara Bui. Manish Arora was a beautiful explosion of colours and completely stole my heart. Barbara Bui was the polar opposite and left me cold.

I had a travel companion: Ada Mortensen, a little red plastic doll that’s already been around the world in the past year. She arrived at my house from Singapore last month. I had her because I am taking part in this experimental travel project orchestrated by the wonderful Lady Croissant.
I took a few snaps of Ada around Paris before sending her to the next experimental traveller.

That’s all for my Parisian adventures, I am now back in London and since fashion month is over, I am back to my exceptionally unglamourous life and I LOVE IT. I can’t tell you how amazing it is to have time to hoover the flat and paint my nails and WORK!!

I hope you enjoyed my little diary!
xoxo

Marian’s thoughts -

I don’t know about you but that yummy diary makes me want to book a super speedy trip to the city of all things chic! I loved Laetitia’s diary. Ada the travelling red doll is beyond adorable, how much are we loving the image of her as shot by Laetitia? I love that she has been around the world. Ada darling I am super jealous as I have major wanderlust!

I also stared for an eternity at the image of all those images in that exhibition down the Rue de Bretagne. I am so glad Laetitia captured that, what a wonderful image.

Do not get me started on the front rowers shot with the ‘I love Paris’ goody bag! Super fabulous darlings. It says everything about how I feel about this diary post and the city it took place in.

I also thought the bit in her adventures about Colette was just yummy!

I could read this post over and over… Heart much!

Kind thanks and kisses to Laetitia for documenting this divine diary for Mariankihogo.com

The illustration on the wall is FABULOUS! I love diaries, especially those of creative people. Thanks so much for dropping by my little neck of the woods. Yeah, the meds have me going and coming. But I’m glad I’m starting to lose weight and eat healthier, my doc says that eventually, if I keep doing the right thing, I’ll be off all my meds. I look forward to that day.

Have a great rest of the day, my dear.
