This trend is nineties in the manner of minimalist Helmut Lang and Calvin Klein meets those utility trousers that were all the range in that decade.

I spotted the utilitarian minimalist trend all over spring summer 2011 catwalks. Its characteristics are simple; a neutral palette, minimalist lines, military and utilitarian features.

Designers paired a minimalist aesthetic with neutral monochromatic tones such as white, khaki, black, ecru, sand and olive etc. Utilitarian features include combat patch pockets, military and flight straps etc.
