Surely it is shear lust, errm I mean sheer lust that has me drooling about shearling outerwear when my mind should be on all things spring!

Shearling made an appearance in a number of autumn winter 2010 -2011 collections. Two of my favourites were Topshop Unique and Burberry Prorsum. Unique’s anorak coats with shearling collars are reminiscent of one of my childhood winter coats.

Meanwhile over at Burberry Prorsum, Christopher Bailey’s execution of his reversed shearling bomber jackets was impeccable.

I know it’s only March and yes I know it only just got a bit warmer but with coats that brilliant, you cannot blame a girl for wishing winter 2010 would hurry up along.

  5. oh the shearling that was on the catwalks really was beautiful! despite how gorgeous the fall 2010 collections were i’m totally dreaming of the warm weather. why is london being so hesitant to give it to us? totally know what you mean though… it’s funny to be dreaming of next fall before this spring has properly set in!

I love shearling. But I never thought it would be particularly flattering on me because of my plus size physique. Now that I’m losing weight, I should be ready for a nice piece of shearling outerwear by the fall. Wonderful post, my dear. Hope you are having a great Saturday.

    Love to you!

I have a black-on-black shearling that’s probably about 10 years old, still going strong and the warmest thing ever. I have a very good opinion of shearling. The little cropped style is so cute.
