I’d Rather Be Wearing // Ghesquière’s Ruffles

Ruffles are often associated with softness, femininity and girlishness. However, in the sculptural nature of these looks as seen in the Balenciaga resort 2012 collection by Nicolas Ghesquière, all I see is an assured strength.

The lines are undoubtedly fluid by nature but uncompromisingly and reassuringly strong.
