Tom Ford. Image via Grazia Daily. The inimitable Tom Ford has become legendary for turning around the fashion houses of Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent. He is notable for influencing the glamorous minimalist sexy look of the 90′s seen in his work at Gucci at the time as championed by the celebrity likes of Gwyneth Paltrow. His impeccable taste and singular vision was hailed in his Oscar nominated film, ‘A Single Man. Directed by Ford, the film starred Colin Firth and Julianne Moore in an early 1960′s Los Angeles setting. Currently at the helm of his eponymous label, his designs grace the red carpet on the most important celebrities of present day. In exciting news, you can meet the designer on Thursday June 14th 2012. Paula Reed, Grazia Magazine’s Style Director will speak to Tom Ford about the highs and lows of career to date. Paula Reed will be in conversation with Ford at 3pm on Thursday 14th 2012 at the Apple Store on London’s Regent Street. Wish I could be in London to attend this event. Tom Ford is an amazing designer, and I was absolutely surprised by his talent as a writer and director when I saw “A single man” few years ago.
That movie was so beautiful stylistically.
