The concept of a 3 day, ladies only, private members club across three floors of London’s Cafe Royal is wonderful enough.
However, wonderful goes up to the power of infinite notches when you add the essential fact that is a Miu Miu private club and all the other glorious elements; design (installations by milliner Stephen Jones and designer Vivienne Westwood), cuisine (a reservation only restaurant boasting 3 leading world renowned chefs, one for each day of the club. A walk in grill, lounge and a club terrace where refreshments can also be partaken), dialogue (a conversation room and three key salon talks led by key fashion, film and design figures), film (screenings of Miu Miu’s The Women Tales film shorts), fashion and retail (a Miu Miu boutique on the the third floor which has on offer current collections and limited edition collaborative designs with Stephen Jones and Vivienne Westwood made specifically for the private club) etc.
The concept and execution (an idea is great but how well it is put into action is everything) of The Miu Miu London club is the reason why a Miu Miu enthusiast has now become a firm Miu Miu girl for life.
The above installations by Stephen Jones featuring Miu Miu design and accessory (one per floor) are perhaps the encapsulation (with relation to this Miu Miu London venture) of how truly spectacular, ahead of the curve and intelligent Miuccia Prada and her team are.
