It has been announced that Kate Moss has been chosen as face of Mango.

The model will star in their spring 2012 campaign ads. According to the NYDailyNews, a spokesperson for the high street retailer is quoted to have said –

“Kate Moss was chosen as the image of Mango because she is a world-famous fashion icon, making her one of the most sought-after models in the fashion world,”.

With all inspiration, it is not the point of reference that enthralls but rather how it is interpreted.

These designers all may have gone under the sea (not literally) but each translation is unique.

Nearly every summer a bare midriff trend arises. However if you look closely, each season the incarnation is slightly new in feel.

This time round, it is fairly high in placement. It settles closer to the bust than the waist line. Due to this placement, there is something more smoldering Sophia Loren about it than sporty hipster cool. Yes it is bare skin but the high bare midriff is more collected, put together and sophisticated in its bearing than past incarnations.

I am certainly seduced by it but enough of my thoughts, what is your view on it?
