Rundown
London’s Design Museum is the venue of the first UK based Christian Louboutin retrospective. Press and media were invited to a private preview event celebrating this large exhibition with Dita Von Teese in attendance. For twenty years the red soled Louboutin has become synonymous with glamor, craftsmanship and innovation. The work of the renowned French footwear designer, Christian Louboutin, has continually always evoked an air of theatricality, inspired in part by his love and fascination with show girls and cabaret. This is evident in the design of some of the shoes and the actual display itself. Other inspiration for his work includes architecture, art, fantasy, fairytale, travel and landscape. The retrospective explores these sources of inspiration through Louboutin’s work and also examines the origin of his iconic red sole. Design Museum is holding the Christian Louboutin 20 years retrospective from 1st May to 9th July with more information here. More on Christian Louboutin here.ALDO Flagship Concept Store Launch Party

ALDO launched their redesigned concept flagship store with a store launch party open to the public during trading hours. The interactive event involved customers shopping to DJ sets by Amber Atherton, Hayley Romer and The Work It girls. Customers were also treated to complimentary manicures by The Illustrated Nail, £100 voucher giveaways on the hour, free rides to the store by the ALDO cab from Bond Street Station, as much Pick-N-Mix candy as customers could eat (there was a perpetual queue to the candy station with the retro sweets proving very popular with customers throughout the day), ice lollies were handed out from an ALDO truck stationed outside the door, outside the store ALDO i-Phone covers were handed out to passer-by’s etc. All in all it was a fantastic, well organised event which felt like the meeting place of a block/street party and that house party that is so good you just cannot leave. It was a I-will-leave-after-this-last-song kind of party and it could not have been better turned out. The guests (the general public) seemed to agree too. I cannot blame them, shoes and accessories are alluring as it is. Throw in some great tunes, a new conceptually designed store, candy, nail art and ice lollies and that is something to party about right there. The ALDO concept flagship store is open at 309 Oxford Street, London. More on the brand here.We Can Do It!

At ALDO’s newly relaunched concept flagship store, press were invited to experience the store. The first thing my eye caught when walking in was the unique graphic hand painted print installation (seen on the geometric convex like ceiling above) by Anna Ahonen and Katarina Lamberg of design duo ‘A&L’. The second that struck me was how interactive the store felt. From the ALDO Mobile service shoe stock checking system, to their new fragrance collection (packaged in geometric flacons) which allows for personality matching etc. The store is now open to the public and is inviting the public to attend its celebration of its new merchandising, conceptual design and interactive experience on Saturday 21st April. From the 10am to 7pm in-store entertainment will include live DJ sets, complimentary manicures, giveaways and much more. A free cab ride can be had from Bond Street underground tube station to the store in the designated ALDO cab. All the details on the celebration here. Having seen the store today, I am looking forward to joining the celebration of the new ALDO 309 Oxford street store on Saturday. Cannot to see you there.Fashion News // ALDO New Concept Store

ALDO Concept Store LaunchWhen
Saturday April 21st, 2012.Where
ALDO, 309 Oxford Street (near Bond Street), London.Rundown
As the poster image says, ALDO is celebrating their new concept store located on 309 Oxford Street with a big bang. Nothing does an innovative retail space more service than an innovative launch. It is obvious ALDO realize this as they have quite the lineup for what is set to be a party like interactive launch. A bespoke ALDO cab will be providing free rides to the new store from Bond Street underground tube station. Once you arrive in the exciting new store, there will be music sets by DJ’s to keep you entertained while you browse the shoe collections, treat yourself to a complimentary ALDO manicures by The Illustrated Nail, a giveaway on the hour, as much sweets from a Pick-N-Mix stand that you can eat and popsicles from an ALDO truck outside the store. If all the above is not a reason to join the party in celebration of the new ALDO concept store, I am not sure what is.ALDO had me at popsicles, Pick-N-mix and manicure. Add those three elements to the allure of shoes and that makes for a formidable combination.
I will be there and hope you will be too!

Stefanel Fall 2012 Preview LunchWhen

Park Hyatt Hotel, Via Tommaso Grossi, Milan.Rundown
Since inception in the early eighties, international Italian fashion brand, Stefanel has been particularly notable for high quality knits (made in Italy) and contemporary design that encourages one to wear to suit one’s individual personality. This focus on quality, lifestyle and contemporary design was no different for their autumn winter 2012-2012 offering. For the preview, the contemporary brand 1nvited and flew a select group of bloggers from across the globe to a lunch in Milan. It was a pleasure to honor the request for my company at the event and attended wearing a Manoush embellished knit dress, Nicole Farhi jacket and Theory pants. Held across a 6th suite with adjoining patio drenched in sunshine, President of the Stefanel brand Giuseppe Stefanel (who was an honor to meet. He is pictured in the third to last and last image in the middle of back row as flanked by Bryan Boy in both) was in attendance with his daughter to host guests. Guests were then transferred to the Stefanel boutique in Milan’s Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Here we were joined by Italian based bloggers for afternoon tea and treated to a gifting session. This included a complimentary full look from the current spring 2012 collection. Inspiration was found in the almost mannish cuts of the relaxed tailored garments. Trying them on felt like borrowing pieces from the closet of a boyfriend. Albeit one that shares the garment sizing as you. It was pleasure to meet the other blogger guests and a joy to re-meet and catch up with the fabulous Bryan Boy and lovely Gala.More on the Stefanel brand.
