I know you are presently thinking “Orange Lips, come on Marian, I think not!”

I hear you darling but here is my argument for the Tango-esque pout…

Believe it or not, it actually works in to suit a multitude of looks/moods. From ‘impish fun lover’,’Miami spring vacay’, ‘bombshell femme fatale’ to ‘elegant so and so’.

Its versatility was proven at the spring/summer 2010 shows, where it popped up in a variety of guises.

Orange lips accessorised the crystal chandelier-esque encrusted Prada collection. The Tango pout was seen at at Galliano’s femme fatale Christian Dior. It also made an appearance at Giambattista Valli’s gorgeous 1920’s inspired collection.

Other catwalks where the vibrant citrus lip made a stop at were Henry Holland etc.

Off the catwalk, a host of celebrities have rocking the orange lip trend. Love the burnt tangerine lips on a smouldering January Jones! Adoring much!

There is an orange lip shade to suit every purse. Barry M’s Lip Paint Lipstick in orange is a steal at £4.10 and is perfect if you don’t want to spend too much to try out this trend.

MAC’s Morange shade for £12.50 is a favourite of mine. I like to wear it and pretend I am sipping an all apple cocktail on a hot Miami Beach.

Last but not the lush least, I am itching to try Yves Saint Laurent’s Pure Lipstick in Orange Sari for £20.00.

Till the weather heats up, my orange lips will help quench my craving for all things summer.

Okay, I thought about that for a second, this might work better on fair skin women. I don’t think this would work for women with olive undertones

Lovely colours… For me it needs to be a rather reddish orange. Will give it a try. (The YSL looks very tempting…) x

My favorite lip color has always been this shade of orange, but not for me. My mother wore it. She had many phases, and one phase was a bubble hair do, red, with orange lips. She never looked more stunning.
