Yellow lipstick is haunting my dreams. I spent the whole of last weekend wearing this yellow lip colour and my usual pile of stacked multiple rings. It is a neon Models Own lip and face paint sample as sent to me.
I adore classic red lipstick but I also like bright crayola shades too like this sheer yellow lip shade here , orange lipstick seen on me here and this red orange lipstick here.
It may also have something to do with a certain obsession with light yellow clothing. The obsession began a few months ago on a day when I had my personal shopper hat on. I had just finished personal shopping on behalf of a client when I spotted a yellow semi sheer dress. It was love at first sight, there is just something compelling about floaty yellow clothes.
To me lip colour is a great way to express a specific mood, just like we do with clothing. Even though the Models Own neon yellow lip and face paint is an unusual lip shade and perhaps a tad fancy dress I am drawn to it.
So I get a lot of stares when I hit the crayola end of the lip colour palette. It does not bother me because as long as what I am wearing (both make up and garments) reflects a current feeling, mood, sense of being … all else fades away.
True self expression is not always picture perfect pretty. Sometimes it is awkward, ugly, dark and a tad peculiar.
At times it is the slightly odd, unexpected and off the kilter that resonates with me.
A case of finding strains of peculiar sense in the weird nonsense.

Make Up Forever 12 Flash Color case is a great palette for lip, cheek and eye. Like the previous colour it can be used all over. Even though it is pricey coming in at $216 (roughly about £145) the palette of 12 bright pigmented make up colours would work over time. For me it could replace all the many individual pots of colour for varying parts of my face in my makeup bag. Alternatively this brand also does a single pot (Make Up For Ever Flash Color Pot) of that bright yellow shade for $18.
